We have come up with a plan for reopening our church services. Please understand that these are unprecedented times and there is no model to follow. We all need to be understanding and flexible when it comes to our reopening. We are going to be following the guidelines that the Governor has given and these guidelines must be followed to keep our liability issues down.
The first phase of our reopening will be drive-in services starting on May 17, 2020, at normal Sunday morning worship time of 10:00 am. We will park in the parking lot and there must be a space between each car. We will inform you of the FM radio frequency that you need to set your radio to in order to and pick up the service. Please understand that the sound quality will not be the same as in our regular services. This approach will at least get us back together until we are able to come inside the building. If all goes well with the initial drive-in service, we will continue them on May 24th and May 31st.
The second phase will be coming back into the building to worship. That is scheduled for June 7, 2020. I will give you more information about the restrictions the closer we get to that date. The deacons will be contacting you in the next week or so to survey you as to your intentions of returning on that date. As of right now the Governor is still advising those over the age of 65 and those who have underlying medical conditions to stay home for your continued safety. That is a decision that each of you in those categories must make and we will honor the decision that you make. When we start back in the building, I will continue to have the Sunday sermon video online and will continue to do Wednesday night studies on Facebook Live until we can resume our normal schedule.
I want to thank Josh, the Deacons, the Trustees, and Ushers for their valuable input. There is still a lot of planning and preparing to do until we open the building again. Pray that we will make the decisions and that this process will be a smooth one. Please remember that we all have our opinions and not all of them are the same. We need to be united in love during this time and not be critical of the decisions made. Believe me when I say we are praying and working to make this reopening as safe for everyone as possible because we love each and every one of our members!
