It was Jan. 22, 1984 when Pres. Ronald Reagan issued the first proclamation recognizing the value of all human life, as endowed by our Creator in the Declaration of Independence. Our "unalienable rights are affirmed whether young or old, weak or strong, healthy or handicapped." FBCSH supports this annual observance with a fundraising campaign to support the life-affirming services of the Pregnancy Centers of Middle TN, with centers in Columbia and Spring Hill. This non-profit organization provides free ultrasounds, pre- and post- abortion counseling, community referrals, family support, and a 2-year parent education program. FBC members will collect loose change in a baby bottle until Feb 18, and/or buy a $10 Kroger gift card, used as incentive when parents complete an education module. After 50 years of legalized abortion, the Supreme Court in 2022 overturned federal law and returned the right to abortion to the states. In TN, the Human Life Protection Act protects pregnancy at all stages unless there is danger to the life of the mother, or irreversible harm to bodily function.
